FALL CLASS SESSION 

 Session runs August 13- December 16, 2018

 

Fall Class Tuition & Fees

$30 Individual/$50 Family Annual Registration Fee

$60 Monthly Tuition for all 45-60 minute classes that meet once per week (4 months)

$75 Costume Fee for Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz/Tap, and Performance Dance Company

$25 Supply Fee for Acting for Musical Theatre, Acting Fundamentals, Acting Sketchy, Broadway Review Jr. and Vicious Vocals

 

Fees for Main Stage Jr. and Main Stage Production are as follows:

$120 Monthly Tuition (4 payments) due on the first of the month

$75 Supply Fee due at time of registration

$100 Production Fee due with second tuition payment

Note: Monthly tuition for Broadway Review Jr. or Vicious Vocals Too will be waived for students enrolled in Main Stage Jr. Production.  Monthly Tuition for Acting Fundamentals, Acting for Musical Theatre or Vicious Vocals Elite will be waived for students enrolled in Main Stage Production. Costume and/or supply fees still apply.

 

Fees for After-School Performing Arts Program are as follows:

$120 Weekly Tuition for Elementary School Students

$100 Weekly Tuition for Middle School Students

Note: Tuition includes classes that begin prior to 6pm as well as daily academic support provided by professional tutor.  All costume, production and supply fees still apply.

Class Schedule
Class Descriptions
Ballet I

Beginner/Intermediate Ballet class for students in 1st through 3rd grade.  Students will learn terminology and movements, and how to execute them properly in combinations in order to gain muscle, advance skill and prevent injury.  Students will also learn ballet class etiquette, parts of the body and how ballet is the foundation for most dance forms.

Hip Hop I

Beginner/Intermediate Hip Hop class for students in 1st through 3rd grade.  This class is designed to improve fitness and increase knowledge in this style of dance.  Students specifically gain knowledge of the various hip hop styles, body movements, and terminology and are challenged with choreography.

Hip Hop II

Beginner/Intermediate Hip Hop class for students in 4th through 8th grade.  This class is designed to improve fitness and increase knowledge in this style of dance.  Students specifically gain knowledge of the various hip hop styles, body movements, and terminology and are challenged with choreography. 

Jazz/Tap II

Beginner/Intermediate Jazz and Tap class for students in 4th through 8th grade.  This class is designed to teach tap and jazz movements, along with development of dance terminology.

Performance Dance Company

This class is for students in 1st through 3rd grade. Students work with various choreographers, diverse types of instruction, and different dance styles to become versatile dancers.  They make great friends in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.  Students advance faster due to more focused training and gain more confidence. *Teacher approval required prior to registration. 

Performance Dance Company Elite

This class is for students in 4th through 8th grade.  Students work with various choreographers, diverse types of instruction, and different dance styles to become versatile dancers.  They make great friends in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.  Students advance faster due to more focused training and gain more confidence. *Teacher approval required prior to registration. 

After-School Performing Arts Program

Our After-School Performing Arts program is open to students age 6 to 14.  The program includes transportation from select schools in nearby area, daily academic support provided by a professional tutor and performing arts classes providing instruction in acting, singing and dancing.  Application process required prior to on-line registration.  Contact us at (813)389-3576 or ActSingDance@verizon.net for more information.
 

Vicious Vocals

This class is open to students in 1st through 3rd grade that love to SING! All levels of experience welcome. With the popularity of television shows American Idol and The Voice, kids are chomping at the bit to flex their vocal muscles.  This class will allow students the opportunity to sing popular songs, ranging from Top 40 hits, yesterday's favorites, Disney and beyond. With a challenging mix of choreography and singing, students will work to create a vicious vocal ensemble that will be sure to impress.  *It is also one of the required class options for our Main Stage Jr. Production participants. 

Vicious Vocals Elite

This class is open to students in 4th through 8th grade. This class is for those who love to SING and have some experience in vocal ensemble work.  With the popularity of television shows American Idol and The Voice, kids are chomping at the bit to flex their vocals muscles.  This class will allow students the opportunity to sing popular songs, ranging from Top 40 hits, yesterday's favorites, Broadway and beyond.  Students will have a blast with the challenges of choreography as well as singing taught by a professional in the field. *It is also one of the required class options for our Main Stage Production participants.

Acting Fundamentals

This class is open to students in 4th through 8th grade. Students will strengthen their acting muscles and theatre mind-set through the use of method-based acting exercises, teacher and students lead discussions, and research-based activities.  Scene and monologue work will be a large part of the class focus.  This is class is not intended to be a performance-based class, but rather a class that develops skills students will utilize in their performance classes. *It is also one of the required class options for our Main Stage Production participants.

Acting for Musical Theatre

This class open to students in 4th through 8th grade. It is a great blend of performance and exploration centered around the exciting world of musical theatre.  Students will get to flex their acting and singing muscles all while taking on challenging scenes from some of the most popular and beloved musical shows. Monologue and solo work will be a large component of this class, as well as helping students find a better understanding of musical theatre structure and audition techniques. Students will get to work on smaller scenes and selected songs as well as a large production number. This a great class for those interested in giving our theatre program a try.  *It is also one of the required class options for our Main Stage Production participants. 

Acting Sketchy (Elementary)

This class is for students in 3rd through 5th grade. Students will create, write and perform their very own comedy sketch show.  Think Saturday Night Live with the fun and creative twist that only young comedians can create! Students will employ improvisations, games and ensemble-driven playmaking to craft a one-of-a kind show filled to the brim with laughs and imagination. Whether they're a prankster, a jokester or just filled with "sillies", this class provides an outlet for students' most creative comedic energy!

Acting Sketchy (Middle School)

This class is for students in 6th through 8th grade. This class is for students in 3rd through 5th grade. Broadway Review Jr.

This class is the cornerstone of our musical theatre program and open to students in 1st through 3rd grade. Students will learn vocal, acting, and movement techniques while rehearsing production numbers from some of Broadway's most popular shows, all with the goal of creating our own unique "show" experience. Students are challenged to always perform at their very best.  This class is also our community performance class which showcases our students' talents at local venues.  *It is one of the required class options for our Main Stage Jr. Production participants.

Director's Chair: Student Directing Intensive

This class is open to students in 5th through 8th grade. Students will learn the basics of directing a live theatre performance, from conception to performance. They will gain knowledge in staging, visual storytelling, giving clear direction and notes, and bringing their vision to life. Students will also receive special instruction in art of working behind the scenes; stage management, lighting and sound design and set construction. This class will culminate in a showcase of student directed work.  *Teacher approval required prior to registration.  Students are also required to complete a set number of hours in the Technical Theatre class.

Main Stage Jr. Production

This class will solely focus on the Fall semester's Main Stage Jr. Production WILLY WONKA and is open to students in 1st through 3rd grade. All students in this class are required to enroll in either Broadway Review Jr. or Vicious Vocals class. Students will rehearse and craft the show in a semi-professional atmosphere, while learning the importance of ensemble, responsibility, professionalism, and community as it relates to all areas of theatre.  Students are required to attend all rehearsals including tech week and shows.  Students and parents will sign a contract committing fully to the class once casting is set.  Please note this class meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm. 

Main Stage Production

This class will solely focus on the Fall semester's Main Stage Production WILLY WONKA and is open to students in 4th through 8th grade. All students in this class are required to enroll in either the Acting for Musical Theatre, Acting Fundamentals or Vicious Vocals Elite class. Students will rehearse and craft the show in a semi-professional atmosphere, while learning the importance of ensemble, responsibility, professionalism, and community as it relates to all areas of theatre. Students are required to attend all rehearsals including tech week and shows. Students and parents will sign a contract committing fully to the class once casting is set. Please note this class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays 4:45-6:00pm, and select Fridays 4:30-5:45pm. 

Technical Theatre

This class is open to students in 1st through 8th grade.  It is designed to teach students more about the technical aspects of theatre through hands-on experiences such as: building and painting the set, painting and sewing costumes, making and embellishing props, dealing with scripts and materials, and more.  Specifically, students will make and help to create the items needed for our performance-based classes.  Students have the option of enrolling in this class monthly.

STCFTA Fan-Con

It's Comic-Con for the fan in all of us! Fandoms like Star Wars, Riverdale, Harry Potter Marvel and more are the focus of this exciting night out! Students will spend the evening dressed as their favorite characters, participating in fun and silly improv panels, and playing themed games.  Snacks and prizes round out what is sure to be a FAN-tastic party!

Holiday Craft Party

With the holiday season fast approaching, everyone is scrambling for gifts for the ones they love.  Students will spend the evening crafting personalized and one-of-a-king gifts for everyone on their list. There will be tons of festive ideas, a gift-wrapping tutorial, and a cookie decorating station. No matter what you're celebrating this season, this event is sure to please!
